A LOVE LETTER TO JACK BENNY

A LOVE LETTER TO JACK BENNY

On February 5, 1981, just a few days before the actual birth date of Jack Benny (February  14th - VALENTINES DAY) three of his dearest friends - George Burns, Bob Hope and Johnny Carson came to salute the late Jack Benny in an affectionate look at the past with memories of those great moments.

The show was culled from shows Benny made between the mid-50’s and early 70’s and showcase his style in sketches with Burns, Carson and Hope along with John Wayne, Ronald Reagan, Lucille Ball, Elke Summer and Phyllis Diller among others. Highlights include a vaudeville spot with Gregory Peck and Benny, Jack bantering with then California governor Ronald Reagan, the Smothers Brohers and Frank Sinatra who sings “I get a Kick out of You”.

There are more kicks for nostalgia buffs in scenes of Benny with his old-time radio and TV regulars including Eddit “Rochester” Anderson, Don Wilson, Dennis Day, Phil Harris and Mel Blanc.   A great two hour DVD loaded with laughs and memories.
