MR LUCKY - THE TELEVISION SERIES

Mr. Lucky is a television show that ran from 1959 - 1960. After the success of PETER GUNN, Blake Edwards produced and developed this show, loosely based on the 1943 film starring Cary Grant. Much of the show's atmosphere is provided by Henry Mancini's theme and incidental music, which produced two full albums, The Music From Mr. Lucky and Mr. Lucky Goes Latin.

Mr. Lucky was an honest professional gambler who had won a plush floating casino, the ship Fortuna, and it is his base of operations. Staying beyond the 12-mile limit, where he could operate a gambling ship legally, Mr. Lucky (John Vivyan) played host to a wide variety of people, all of whom came to make use of his sumptuous facility. Helping him run the casino was his good friend Andamo (Ross Martin). When he got into scrapes that required police assistance, Lt. Rovacs (Tom Brown)usually provided it. Most shows actually do develop into interesting and entertaining mysteries.
