CLUE CLUB - NURSE KEATE MYSTERIES
WHILE THE PATIENT SLEPT (1935) Grandfather is sick and the family and his lawyer gather around waiting for him to die. When he receives a telegram from his disinherited son, Charles, he passes out and a nurse, Sarah, comes to the house to attend to him. His other two sons, Ross and Adolphe, quarrel over an outstanding loan. Later that night, Adolphe is murdered and the police are called.
THE MURDER OF DR. HARRIGAN (1936) Crotchety hospital administrator Peter Melady, self-proclaimed developer of a new wonder anaesthetic, is about to undergo a delicate operation to be performed by the glib Dr. Leo Harrigan, Melady's longtime mutual adversary. Police are called when the murdered body of Harrigan is found in an elevator, and Melady, last seen being wheeled on a gurney to surgery by Harrigan, has disappeared.
THE PATIENT IN ROOM 18 (1938) private detective Lance O'Leary is sent to the hospital to recuperate from a nervous breakdown. At the hospital, Sara is his nurse and she still holds a grudge from the last court case. At the hospital, a wealthy patient has just donated $100,000 worth of radium to be used on his skin problem. But late that night, he is murdered and the radium is stolen. Everyone has a motive except for Sara and Lance as they were looked in his room during the murder. As the bodies pile up, Sara and Lance try to solve the case as Foley is clueless.
MYSTERY HOUSE (1938) Banker Hubert Kingery invites fellow officers to his hunting lodge only to announce that one of them has forged critical company documents. Later, he is found shot to death, apparently at his own hand. His daughter, Gwen, is the only one who does not believe it was suicide. She asks help from aunt's nurse, Sarah, who suggests her detective boyfriend, Lance, for the task. When he arrives, he's not sure the death was not a suicide after all. But as he investigates the few available clues, he tries to sort fact from fallacy.
